Christian, I have good news for you! God loves us so much that He made a plan for our life long before we were ever born. In fact, this plan was considered and put into motion before the world was even created. God knew that mankind would rebel against Him even before He breathed life into Adam’s lungs and yet He still created the human race. God knew that we would need redemption if we were to ever have a chance for salvation and heaven. He knew this would require the sacrifice of His Son; a tremendous price which would bring great suffering to God Himself. Yet, even with all of this in mind, He chose to create us anyway.
What is your life worth? How do you feel about yourself today? What gives you value? What makes you feel good about yourself? If you are struggling with an answer may I suggest that you read, meditate upon and consider the implications of the first chapter of Ephesians. In love, God predestined us to be adopted as His son or daughter according to His will and good pleasure. God loves us. He has loved us for all of eternity past and will continue to do so for all eternity future..
FOREVER AND EVER WITHOUT END
God’s love is beyond the ability to measure and we should refrain from any attempt to do so. It is a vast and endless ocean in which we swim and enjoy as long as we resist the temptation to try and quantify it. In the moment we try and put a unit of measure upon God’s love for the purpose of understanding it we have denied ourselves the ability to fully experience it. God’s love is without limit, can never be earned, has no beginning and will never end. Until we believe in the eternal nature of God’s love we will forever fail to enjoy it in the capacity God intends during our time here on earth.
God loves us incomprehensibly. Paul hoped that believers would live their life in such a way that way would come to understand more fully the height, depth, width and breadth of God’s great love but he qualified this statement by testifying to the fact that God’s love surpasses knowledge Ephesians 3:18-19).
So are you enjoying God’s love or living the frustration of an endless attempt to understand it? All too often Christians miss out on the enjoyment and blessing of God’s love because they are forever trying to figure out His motivation for it and the limits of it. Take a moment, look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself, “God loves me.” Let it sink in and fill your soul with joy. God has simply chosen to love you and this choice will never be revoked. You are a Christian, a follower of Jesus and beloved. You are the apple of His eye. Speak it and let your heart hear, “Jesus loves me, this I know!”
