More than anything else God wants us to know that He loves us. I want you stop what you are doing, put down that cup of coffee, stop listening to the song on the radio and let this sink deeply into your soul! God…loves…you! He loves you on your good days and your bad days. He loves you at all times with an infinite, fierce love that never simmers or cools. God loves you when you pray and don’t pray. He loves you when you sin and are holy. He loves you when you go to church and when you don’t go to church. God just loves you! He loves YOU!
Isn’t it wonderful to meditate upon and enjoy God’s unconditional and infinite love! Infinite in that it has no beginning and no end. God has always loved us, even before we were born. He loved us long before we had even the opportunity to become Christians. God loved us before He created the world.
The unconditional part of God’s love is a little hard to accept for many of us. It seems every other kind of love in life is conditional in one way or another. Even the love we have for our spouse only happened upon the condition we actually met one another. However, God has always known and loved us even before we had the capacity to know Him. There is no condition on God’s love.
I wonder how it might change your life to consider that neither time nor eternity can alter how God loves you. The Apostle Paul attempted to convey the unconditional and total nature of God’s love in Romans 8:38-39 when he wrote, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
One more excited thing to note about His love…God loves us so much that He won’t leave us the way we are!
