Recently our church family went to see the movie “War Room.” The movie is an excellent reminder that our battle is not against flesh and blood. Believers in Christ have a responsibility to be on the front lines of a more sinister and serious kind of battle which rages all around us.
We do not operate in the natural. We do not fight battles in the seen world. We do not face an enemy of flesh and blood. What we do in the “unseen world” has consequences in the seen world. What we do in the supernatural has impact in the natural. When our enemy is defeated in battle, we see victories in the world of flesh and blood.
We are in the middle of a spiritual war. Politicians, pundits, activists and radicals can make their calls and cries but true change in our physical world only happens when something happens in the spiritual world.
How much time are you spending in the spiritual realm? How much time do you spend talking with God in prayer? How often do you raise up the weapons of our warfare and battle the enemy actively? When is the last time you confessed all known sin to Jesus and repented from it? Have you ever rebuked the enemy in the name of Jesus? Have you ever (in Jesus name) taken back the parts of your life ceded to the enemy of your soul? How often do you pray for the plans of the enemy for your life to be defeated? How often do you pray that God will bind and defeat the plans of wicked human beings who cross the path of your life?
How often do you take up the armor of God in Jesus name? How often do you take joy in the relationship you have with Jesus and stand firm against the schemes (devious plans) of the devil?
Seems obvious to anyone who would open their eyes that believers in Jesus are getting their “teeth kicked in” on a regular basis. Our country is hurting and the hurt is happening from the inside out. It is time for the church to rise up and be a part of the solution. It is time to rise up and fight. It is time to fight in the name of Jesus, in the power of His Holy Spirit, with the authority He has given His people. It is time to confess our sin, cast out the enemy and close the doors through which he has found his authority to make his attack.
War Plans of the Christian:
- Confess all known sin and repent
- In Jesus name command all demons that have attached themselves to you or your family to flee and go back to where they came from.
- In Jesus name cancel all authority the enemy has in your life. In Jesus name close whatever doors have been open for the enemy to enter your life.
Scripture on Spiritual Warfare:

- Psalm 91
- Luke 9:1
